Peter Hayes

Peter Hayes is a ceramist born in Birmingham, UK in 1946. He attended the Mosely School of Art & Craft from 1960 to 1967 in Birmingham, as well as the Birmingham College of Art, which is where he began his journey to where he is today. A few years later, spanning from 1972 to 1978, he became a Craft Advisor at the Economical Development for Equatorial and Southern Africa ( EDESA). From then, in 1979 to 1982, he took up a position as the Production Development Advisor (Commonwealth Secretariat) at Lesotho in Southern Africa. At this point, in 1984, he took on a role as the Advisor for Development of Ceramics with the Commonwealth Fund for Technical Co-operation, which took him around the globe to Nepal, India, Japan and South Korea. Then, in 1985-87, he once again became a Craft Advisor for South West Arts.
Peter Hayes now consistently produces Ceramic art, attending craft fairs internationally.
