Richard Wilson
Richard’s colourful, contemporary pots include functional items and more sculptural, individual pieces.
He has built up his skills over forty years of working in ceramics, and is strongly influenced by mid-European and traditional English slipware.
His current work includes abstract decoration, sometimes using an orange pigment that is found in the cliff at West Bay, close to his workshop.
“I’m using colour to express the rhythm of shapes and making the pots dance.” This is how Richard describes his decorating style, which in part echoes the Dorset landscape.
